University of Pennsylvania Celebrates Five Scholar-Athletes on Academic All-District Team
PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania is proud to announce that five of its male athletes have been named to the Academic All-District teams for the 2024-25 academic year in the men’s at-large category, as recognized by College Sports Communicators (CSC).
The honored athletes include men’s fencers Simon Kushkov and Bryce Louie, men’s lacrosse player Emmet Carroll, and wrestlers CJ Composto and Ryan Miller. These student-athletes have demonstrated exceptional performance in both their respective sports and in the classroom, maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.50.
The Academic All-District at-large teams celebrate the nation’s top student-athletes who excel in academics and athletics. Nominations come from CSC members, highlighting the dedication and achievements of student-athletes across various sports. Following this recognition, select individuals will advance to the Academic All-America ballot, which will be voted on by CSC members from June 17-24. The results for the Academic All-America teams will be announced on July 8 for women and July 9 for men.
Prominently featured on the Academic All-America ballot are Composto, Kushkov, and Louie, showcasing the University of Pennsylvania’s commitment to academic excellence and athletic prowess.
University officials expressed pride in their student-athletes’ accomplishments, reflecting the institution’s motto of “Fight On, Penn.”
This recognition not only highlights the individual achievements of these athletes but also underscores the importance of balancing sports with academic success, embodying the spirit of collegiate athletics.
