Brendan Lavelle Named to ECAC Division I All-ECAC Team
PHILADELPHIA – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has recognized the University of Pennsylvania’s senior defenseman, Brendan Lavelle, by naming him to the Division I All-ECAC Teams for the 2025 men’s lacrosse season.
Lavelle entered the season with notable expectations and delivered stellar performances, earning first-team All-Ivy honors for the third consecutive year, along with consensus All-America recognition from the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA), Inside Lacrosse, and USA Lacrosse Magazine. Throughout the season, Lavelle was tasked with defending the opposing team’s top offensive players, showcasing his defensive prowess by tying for the team lead in caused turnovers (12) and finishing second in ground balls with 36, just behind face-off man Stevie Davis.
His standout performances included multiple key plays in Ivy League matchups against Brown, Yale, and Harvard, where Lavelle recorded two caused turnovers in each game and accumulated 15 ground balls. His offensive contributions were also noteworthy; he tallied two points during the season, with a remarkable full-field goal against Villanova that secured the No. 1 spot on SportsCenter’s "Top 10 Plays."
Lavelle’s exceptional season culminated in being the fifth overall pick in the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) College Draft, where he was selected in the first round by the defending champion Utah Archers on May 6.
