Lionel Revives Pennsylvania RR S2 Steam Turbine for 125th Anniversary

Measuring 30 inches in length—as opposed to its predecessors—it includes modern features like Legacy control, RailSounds, and Bluetooth capabilities, making it superior in both size and technology. The design remains faithful to the original while integrating sophisticated elements like turbine exhaust sounds, directional lighting, and a die-cast metal body.
Additionally, Lionel’s latest catalog presents a range of variants inspired by the Turbine’s history, including two prototypical versions reflecting its original cab numbers and unique designs inspired by industrial designer Raymond Loewy. Fantasy paint schemes also pay homage to other renowned railroads, offering collectors an exciting array of options.
