University of Pennsylvania Women’s Track and Field Team Shines at NCAA East First Round
Jacksonville, Fla. – The University of Pennsylvania women’s track and field team wrapped up a successful outing at the NCAA East First Round on Saturday, highlighted by a standout performance from Angeludi Asaah, who secured her spot in the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Asaah shone in the discus event, recording an impressive mark of 56.32 meters (184 feet, 9 inches) on her first attempt. This performance initially positioned her second after the first round and ensured that she remained comfortably in the top 12 after three rounds, thus qualifying for the upcoming championships in Eugene, Oregon.
Competing alongside Asaah, Adannia Agbo, who was seeded 27th going into the meet, finished in 20th place in the triple jump with a distance of 12.66 meters (41 feet, 6.5 inches). Zofia Limbert took part in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.69 meters (5 feet, 6.5 inches) to finish 43rd.
The team also participated in the 4x100m relay, where Chikaodinaka Akazi, Fore Abinusawa, Milan Ramey, and Mary Rozier clocked a time of 44.64 seconds, placing 21st. In the individual 100m quarterfinals, Abinusawa finished 14th, setting a season-best time of 10.30 seconds.
With Asaah’s impressive qualifications solidifying the team’s success, the University of Pennsylvania women’s track and field squad continues to build momentum as they prepare for the championships in June. The anticipated event offers a platform for the athletes to showcase their dedication and talent on a national stage.
