Alleged Ticket Fraud Scheme Uncovered Across Pennsylvania
WTAJ — Pennsylvania State Police have charged multiple individuals and organizations, including a man from Johnstown, in connection with an alleged scheme involving fraudulent acquisition of sports tickets. The investigation revealed a network that misused the Tickets for Kids nonprofit, which aims to provide at-risk and low-income children access to sporting, educational, arts, and cultural events.
Authorities discovered that individuals were allegedly working with or recruiting nonprofit organizations to acquire free tickets to various Pennsylvania sporting events, including games hosted by the Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers, Penguins, and the Pitt Panthers. Once obtained, these tickets were reportedly resold on the secondary market for profit.
Among those charged are Quan Britt, 48, from Johnstown, and several others from the Pittsburgh area, including Todd Anthony Hall, 55, Ramona Wilkes, 63, Kevin Riley, 59, Mary Henning, 64, and Jacob Mazzie, 26. Additionally, the Hope4Johnstown nonprofit and Steel City Tickets, known as AAA Primetime Tickets in Greentree, are also implicated in the scheme.
