Rep. Clint Owlett Honored as Legislator of the Year by Pennsylvania Rural Electric Association
Harrisburg, PA – May 8, 2025 – Representative Clint Owlett (R-Tioga/Bradford) received the inaugural Legislator of the Year Award from the Pennsylvania Rural Electric Association (PREA) on Tuesday, recognizing his steadfast commitment to rural electric cooperatives and the communities they serve.
“I am deeply honored and humbled by this recognition,” Owlett expressed, highlighting the essential services that rural electric cooperatives provide. He acknowledged their role not only in delivering electricity but also in expanding access to vital services such as broadband internet. “I look forward to continuing to work together and achieving great things for the Northern Tier and all of rural Pennsylvania,” he added.
Owlett’s efforts were particularly noted for maintaining open communication with local electric cooperatives, especially Tri-County and Claverack. His sponsorship of Act 98 of 2020, which enables electric cooperatives to utilize their easements for broadband facilities, exemplifies his commitment to supporting these organizations.

The award was presented during PREA’s annual legislative mixer event, celebrating Owlett’s significant contributions to the welfare of rural residents.
