David Duda, Jr. Joins Penn Men’s Basketball Coaching Staff
PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania’s Men’s Basketball program has welcomed David Duda, Jr. as the new director of basketball operations, announced by Head Coach Fran McCaffery.
Duda, who previously served as a graduate assistant on Mike Rhoades’ staff at Penn State for two years, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He has also held positions as the basketball director at the iRoy Multi-Sport Complex and as a camp director at Competitive Edge Sports in King of Prussia, Pa. McCaffery expressed enthusiasm for Duda’s addition, noting his strong work ethic and the high recommendations he received from trusted colleagues in the basketball community.
"I’m extremely grateful to Coach McCaffery and the staff for giving me this opportunity at the University of Pennsylvania,” said Duda. “I look forward to working with this group in pursuit of excellence atop the Ivy League."
A graduate of East Stroudsburg University, Duda was recognized for both his athletic and academic achievements. He earned Dean’s List honors and became the program’s record holder for 3-point field-goal percentage during the 2022-23 season while also being nominated for CSC Academic All-America honors.
Hailing from the Philadelphia area, Duda is well-acquainted with the local basketball landscape, as his father, David Duda, serves as the athletic director at Delaware Valley University and has a rich history as a college basketball coach.
Duda’s journey in basketball continues to unfold as he aims to contribute significantly to the Quakers’ aspirations in the Ivy League.
