Chambersburg Clinches Walk-off Victory Against Mechanicsburg
Chambersburg, PA – In a thrilling finish, Chambersburg High School baseball team edged out Mechanicsburg with a 3-2 walk-off victory in a tightly contested game on Wednesday.
As the Trojans faced a 2-1 deficit in the bottom of the seventh inning, Keaton Barclay stepped up to the plate and delivered a crucial base hit that brought in two runs, sealing the victory for Chambersburg.
Ryne Mills showcased his pitching prowess for the Trojans, striking out seven batters while allowing six hits and two earned runs over six innings pitched. Conversely, Mechanicsburg’s Grady Weaver held his ground with eight strikeouts against just three hits, also yielding two earned runs in 6.1 innings.
At the plate, Wyatt Martin led the Trojans, going 2-for-3 with a run scored. Meanwhile, Mechanicsburg’s offense was powered by Nick Patrick and Luke Bencivenga, who both contributed significantly, with Patrick finishing 2-for-3 and Bencivenga recording two RBIs.
