Local Stars Shine in 2024-25 All-State Boys Basketball Teams
The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association recently announced its 2024-25 All-State Boys Basketball Teams, recognizing outstanding performances statewide. Otto-Eldred’s Landon Francis earned a prominent spot on the First Team for Class 1A, while Wil Wortman of Elk County Catholic was honored on the Third Team.
Francis’s impressive season included being named the Big 30 Player of the Year and making the Big 30 First Team. He is heralded as a two-time District 9 Player of the Year and is among the top three scorers in District 9, averaging an impressive 20.5 points per game. Notably, he became one of three players in Otto-Eldred’s history to reach 1,000 career points and was invited to the prestigious Big 30 Basketball Senior Classic.
Wortman, a standout athlete with his own 1,000-point achievement, secured the eighth position among District 9 scorers, averaging 18.7 points per game. He is a two-time TCW/CE Player of the Year and also participated in the Senior Classic.
In the All-State selections, Francis and Wortman are among the distinguished group recognized for their hard work and dedication on the court. The full list includes other remarkable talents across various classes, celebrating players from Class 1A to Class 6A and their respective coaches of the year.
