Elon Musk’s Privacy Plea Denied by West Lake Hills City Officials

His team sought to retroactively amend this infringement on city ordinances. However, the West Lake Hills city attorney denied Musk’s request for a private meeting, interpreting it as a violation of the Texas Open Meetings Act.
Despite the legal struggles, Musk’s appeal was defeated at a recent Zoning and Planning Commission meeting where city employees recommended that the City Council deny Musk’s request to retain his unauthorized structures. Neighbors have voiced concerns over the aesthetics and increased traffic generated by Musk’s security measures, prompting local officials to investigate.
Musk’s residential property, a 6,900-square-foot mansion purchased in 2022 through a limited liability company, is one of three that he acquired for his children and their guardians. This home has become a command center for his expanding security operations, drawing the scrutiny of both neighbors and city officials.
Despite multiple emails from Musk’s staff to city employees advocating for confidentiality, their privacy request ultimately failed. The City Council meeting originally scheduled for May 14 has since been postponed to June 11, awaiting further deliberation regarding Musk’s property modifications. As of now, Musk’s team has not publicly commented on the matter.
