This year’s inductees showcase a diverse range of talents and achievements, reflecting the rich sports heritage of the region.
Inductees:

Jason Bryant: A defensive standout from Steelton-Highspire and record-setting safety at Morehouse College, Bryant’s 29 interceptions earned him All-American recognition and a Grey Cup with the Baltimore Stallions in 1995.

Rob Deibler: Former quarterback for Steel-High, Deibler led the team to a state championship and a notable coaching career with over 117 wins, including multiple district championships.

Larry Etter: Esteemed sports writer for the Press and Journal from 1979 to 2021, Etter covered over 1,500 games and earned four Keystone journalism awards.

Mike Gaffey: Longtime Central PA basketball coach with a successful tenure at Mechanicsburg, Gaffey boasts an extensive coaching record and multiple district championships.

Dennis Helsel (posthumously): A West Point graduate and influential coach across multiple sports, Helsel served in the military and held various athletic administrative roles, earning several commendations.

Amy Holman Hempt: A multi-sport athlete at Middletown High, Hempt excelled in basketball and field hockey before coaching various programs.

Terri Mitchell: Harrisburg native and Marquette’s winningest women’s basketball coach, Mitchell led her teams to numerous postseason appearances and earned several coaching accolades.

Jim Pollihan (posthumously): A former U.S. men’s national soccer player and inaugural head coach of the Harrisburg Heat, Pollihan made significant contributions to local soccer.

Kiley Strohm: An All-American field hockey player at Penn State, Strohm achieved great success as a coach, earning several district titles.
- Jeff Sweigard: Renowned wrestling coach at Susquehanna Township and Central Dauphin, Sweigard boasts a record of numerous district and state championships.
