Press Release: Traveler Alert for Possible Measles Exposure in Eastern Pennsylvania
Montgomery County, PA – Health officials are urging caution following a reported case of measles in a child who was not vaccinated. This has prompted a traveler warning for individuals who visited specific locations in eastern Pennsylvania and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport at the end of February.
The measles exposure timeline includes:

February 25-26, 2025: China Airlines Airport Shuttle Bus, departing from JFK Airport Terminal 4 to North Philadelphia. Exposure risk exists between 9:30 p.m. and 3:15 a.m.

February 26, 2025: True North Pediatrics Associates, Plymouth Meeting, PA from 11:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.
- February 26, 2025: CHOP King of Prussia Campus Emergency Department from 12:52 p.m. to 3:02 p.m.
Individuals present at these locations during the specified times are advised to monitor for symptoms, as measles can remain in the air and on surfaces for up to two hours after an infected person has left. Symptoms may develop if a person inhales contaminated air or comes into contact with infected surfaces and subsequently touches their eyes, nose, or mouth.
Health officials are actively contacting those who may have been exposed to assess their vaccination status and risk of infection. Further updates and information regarding potential exposure during air travel will be made available as the situation develops.
