Tragic Crash on Route 309 Claims Three Lives
Lynn Township, PA – A tragic car accident on Route 309 over the weekend resulted in the deaths of three passengers, while both drivers miraculously survived and are currently receiving medical treatment. The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 4, 2025, prompting an immediate response from the Pennsylvania State Police.
According to authorities, a 2013 Hyundai Accent, driven by a 54-year-old woman from Allentown, was traveling northbound when it veered into the southbound lanes. The car subsequently collided head-on with a 2021 Jeep Compass, operated by a 30-year-old woman from Fountain Hill.
The Hyundai was carrying three passengers, including Vannity Colon, 21, from Allentown, and Israel Medina, 19, from New York City, both of whom were pronounced dead at the scene. The third passenger’s details have yet to be released. Meanwhile, Jeffrey Pichel, a 61-year-old passenger in the Jeep, succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital the following day.
Investigators from the Pennsylvania State Police and Lehigh County Coroner’s Office are diligently probing the factors that led to this devastating incident. Speed or distraction may have contributed, though no official cause has been determined at this time.
