Tractor Supply Acquires Former Big Lots Leases Amid Bankruptcy Crisis
Pittsburgh, PA – Tractor Supply Co. announced on June 27, 2024, that it is discontinuing several corporate diversity and climate initiatives, responding to increasing conservative backlash. The new stores acquired by Tractor Supply include prominent locations in Newington, CT; Lakeland, FL; Athens, GA; and several others, expanding its footprint in key markets. The acquisition aligns with Tractor Supply’s positioning as a “rural lifestyle retailer,” with the company operating 2,296 stores in 49 states by the end of December 2024.
