The University of Pennsylvania women’s lacrosse team had a successful week, and two of their players were recognized for their outstanding performances. Anna Brandt was named Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week, while Orly Sedransk received the honor of Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week.
Freshman goalie Sedransk had an impressive showing in the games against Princeton and Cornell, making a career-high 14 saves in the victory over Princeton. She stopped 27 of 49 shots throughout the week. It was her first Ivy League weekly honor in her collegiate career.
Senior midfielder Brandt was a key offensive player for Penn, scoring 12 points in the two games. In the win against Cornell, she tied the program’s single-game goal record by scoring a career-high nine goals. This performance helped Penn secure a spot in the 2025 Ivy League Women’s Lacrosse Tournament.
Both Brandt and Sedransk will look to continue their strong play as the team faces Towson on April 23 in their final non-conference game of the season. The team is currently ranked #16 nationally and is looking to build on their recent success towards a strong finish in the upcoming tournament.
The Penn women’s lacrosse team is showing their strength and determination as they head into the final stretch of the season, led by the impressive performances of Brandt and Sedransk. #FightOnPenn.
