Seven Fencers from the Team Are Headed to the NCAA Championships This Weekend


The University of Pennsylvania fencing programs have announced that seven fencers will be representing them at the 2025 NCAA Fencing Championships at Penn State from March 20-23. The team is coming off a successful run at the 2024 NCAA Championships, where Sabrina Cho and Grace Hu earned Honorable Mention All-America honors.

On the men’s side, Bryce Louie became the 2024 NCAA foil national champion, with teammates Blake Broszus and Joseph Wu also earning All-America honors. At the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional, Penn fencers Leah Blum, Simon Kushkov, and others performed well, with 13 total Quakers earning spots on the All-Mid-Atlantic/South Region Teams.

The women’s lineup for the NCAA Championships includes Victoria Kuznetsov in Epee, Sabrina Cho and Katina Proestakis Ortiz in Foil, and Leah Blum in Saber. The men’s lineup consists of Bryce Louie in Foil, and Antonio Heathcock and Simon Kushkov in Saber.

The Penn fencing team is ready to compete and make their mark at the championships, with high hopes for success. The Quakers have shown their skill and dedication throughout the season, and are looking forward to showcasing their talent on the national stage. #FightOnPenn
