University of Pennsylvania women’s lacrosse player Natasha Gorriaran has been named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week. The senior defender played a key role in the team’s victory over Princeton this past weekend, helping hold off the Bulldogs to a season-low ten goals. Gorriaran caused four turnovers, collected three draw controls, and two ground balls in the game.
This is the first time this season that Gorriaran has received this award. Her strong defensive performance has been instrumental in Penn’s success and has been recognized by the Ivy League.
Penn, ranked #16 nationally, will face off against #5 Princeton on Wednesday at Franklin Field. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU at 8 p.m.
Gorriaran’s award is a testament to her skill and dedication to the sport. She continues to be a defensive force for the Quakers and will play a key role in their upcoming game against Princeton. Penn fans are encouraged to tune in and support the team as they continue their successful season.
