The University of Pennsylvania men’s lacrosse team faced a tough loss to No. 10 Harvard with a final score of 13-6. Despite being within two points at halftime, the Quakers couldn’t keep up with the Crimson as Harvard pulled away in the third quarter. Senior Ben Smith was the only multi-goal scorer for Penn, with four other players contributing points as well. Senior Brendan Lavelle had a strong defensive performance with two caused turnovers and four ground balls.
The loss dropped Penn’s overall record to 4-8 and their Ivy League play record to 1-4. On the other hand, Harvard improved to 9-2 overall and 3-1 in Ivy play, winning this matchup for the first time in a decade. The Quakers will be looking to bounce back in their next game as they face off against No. 3 Princeton on Franklin Field next Saturday at noon. This game will also be a part of a doubleheader with the Penn women’s lacrosse team to celebrate Alumni Day as well as the men’s Senior Day.
