The University of Pennsylvania men’s tennis team faced a tough loss against No. 10 Columbia, with a final score of 7-0. Despite the defeat, Manfredi Graziani and Shaurya Bharadwaj managed to secure a win in doubles, improving their record to 19-5 for the season. Graziani also put up a strong fight in singles against the defending NCAA Singles champion, Michael Zheng.
Tal Goodman and Matthew Rutter also showed impressive performances, with Goodman winning a set against his ranked opponent and Rutter going to a tiebreak in his first set.
The team will now look ahead to their final home match of the season against No. 39 Cornell, where seniors Goodman and Baylor Sai will be recognized for their contributions to the Penn men’s tennis program. The match is set to take place in University City on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
