Kentucky Gymnasts Advance to Regional Final with Strong Performance
Kentucky gymnasts were all smiles as they celebrated their advancement to the regional final after posting a team score of 197.525, marking the third highest score of the season. The Wildcats placed second in the first of two semifinals at the 2025 NCAA Pennsylvania Regional, defeating Ohio State and Penn State.
The Cats’ performance was highlighted by scoring at least 49.350 on every rotation, achieving a season high score of 49.425 on the uneven bars. This marks the first time this season that Kentucky has surpassed the 197.500 mark in three of its past four meets.
Individual Wildcats also stood out, with Isabella Magnelli and Creslyn Brose posting the highest scores in beam and floor exercises, respectively. The team’s strong showing on vault, bars, beam, and floor helped secure their sixth consecutive qualification for the regional final.
Kentucky will face off against Michigan State and the top two teams from the upcoming meet featuring No. 1 LSU, No. 16 Arkansas, Michigan, and Maryland. The Wildcats will be vying for two spots at the 2025 NCAA National Championships in the Sweet 16 quad meet on Saturday, April 5th at 5 p.m. ET.
The Cats closed the meet with a strong performance on the floor exercise, with Brose receiving a perfect 10.0 from one of the judges for her routine. Despite some challenges, Kentucky’s consistent and high-scoring routines across all events ensured their qualification for the regional final and showcased their strength as a team.
