University of Pennsylvania swimmer Matt Fallon will be the sole representative for the Quakers at the 2025 NCAA Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships in Federal Way, Wash. Fallon will compete in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke events, where he is seeded first in the 200 and aims to capture Penn’s first men’s national title in a non-distance event since 2016. Fallon also appears on the psych sheet for the 500 freestyle.
Having won the gold medal in the 200 at the Ivy Championships in early March, Fallon set the Ivy meet record with a time of 1:48.85. He is a two-time All-American in the 200 and set the American record in the 200m breast at the Olympic Trials last summer. Despite finishing 10th at the Olympics, Fallon narrowly missed out on competing in the final.
Fallon will face tough competition at the NCAA Championships, including Virginia Tech’s Carles Coll Marti and Indiana’s Josh Matheny in the 200 breaststroke event.
The NCAA Championships are set to begin on March 26 and run through March 29 in Washington State. For the latest updates on Penn swimming & diving, fans can follow @PennSwimDive on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram, as well as visit PennAthletics.com.
