IUP narrowly loses in quarterfinals, falling 66-64 to Edinboro


Despite a valiant effort in the fourth quarter, IUP came up short against Edinboro in the PSAC Quarterfinals, losing 66-64. The Hawks now have a 21-7 record, while Edinboro stands at 23-5. Nyshae’ Weaver and Madison Zavasky led the scoring for IUP, but Edinboro’s early lead proved too much to overcome.

Shamia Strayhorn and Janeira Scott helped IUP close the gap in the second quarter, but Edinboro maintained their lead heading into the second half. Despite a strong effort from Ellie Wilkerson and Grace Centrulla, IUP struggled to catch up to Edinboro’s lead, falling short by just two points in the end.

IUP now looks ahead to the NCAA selection show on March 9, waiting to see if they will secure a spot in the upcoming tournament starting on March 14.
