Skyelar Kerico of the University of Pennsylvania gymnastics team has earned her third Gymnastics East Conference (GEC) Gymnast of the Week award after her impressive performance at the Ivy Classic. Kerico took home two individual titles in the all-around and bars, becoming the first Penn gymnast since 2012 to win multiple championships at a single Ivy Classic. Her all-around score of 39.275 is the third highest in program history, and she also earned a 9.875 on the uneven bars, tying for the third-best event score for a Quaker at the Ivy Classic.
In addition to her two event titles, Kerico placed second in the vault and earned three First-Team All-Ivy honors and one second-team accolade. She currently ranks first on the bars, second on vault, and fourth on the floor exercise among GEC gymnasts. With this latest award, Kerico now holds the record for the most Gymnast of the Week awards by any Quaker in her career.
The University of Pennsylvania gymnastics team will next travel to Chapel Hill, N.C. to face No. 23 North Carolina, Temple, and Yale in a quad meet. Fans can follow @PennGym on X and Instagram for the latest updates on the team. #GoPennFight #FightOnPenn
