Women’s Tennis to Play Lehigh at Home this Friday

The University of Pennsylvania women’s tennis team is looking to bounce back from a recent loss in Florida as they prepare to face Lehigh on Friday, February 28th at 11:00 a.m. at the Hecht Tennis Center in Philadelphia. With injuries impacting their lineup, the Quakers aim to even out their 2025 season record in this upcoming match.

Penn, currently 4-5 overall, is coming off a defeat to the No. 20 ranked University of Central Florida. Missing senior Sabine Rutlauka due to injury, the team struggled against tough competition in both doubles and singles matches. However, with the return of sophomore Esha Velaga from injury, the Quakers hope to turn things around this weekend.

On the other side, Lehigh holds a 4-1 record for the year, winning their last four matches after an initial loss to Villanova. The Mountain Hawks have secured victories against various opponents, with their most recent matches resulting in wins.

The upcoming match between Penn and Lehigh will be the first time the two programs have faced each other in over a decade. In their last encounter during the 2012-2013 season, Penn emerged victorious with a 7-0 sweep against Lehigh.
