Several members of the University of Pennsylvania swimming and diving teams are gearing up for the ECAC Championships at the United States Naval Academy this weekend. The Penn Men’s team will be represented by Truman Armstrong, Kevin Jiang, John Lieberman, Neo Matsuyama, Henry Sheils, Evan Spagnoletti, Daniel Trincher, Vinny Vinciguerra, and Weifan Zhang. On the other hand, the Penn Women’s team will have Brooke Blom, Vanessa Chong, Amelia Girotto, Sophie Henriksen, Charlotte Holliday, Kiani Morisi, Amber Smith, Emma Stolberg, Maggie Straley, Keara McGowan, and Katya Eruslanova competing.
Sophie Henriksen, the defending champion in the 100 backstroke, will be looking to defend her title at the ECAC Championships. She, along with Blom and Smith, were part of the 400 free relay team that won gold last season.
The competition will include 27 teams from the region, with schools like Bucknell, Fairfield, Loyola, and Navy sending representatives along with Iona, Rider, and Columbia. Start times for the event are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 9 a.m. on Sunday.
