Ziggy Donutz will be celebrating Fastnacht Day a couple of days early by offering a unique tasting event at Adams County Winery on Sunday, March 2. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a flight of four donuts paired with their choice of four Adams County dry or sweet wines. Pre-registration is required for this event.
Ziggy Donutz, known for its old-fashioned fried cake doughnuts, recently moved its operation from a shop in Hanover to a food truck. The father-son duo behind Ziggy Donutz, Danny and John Ziegler, will be serving up flavors like raspberry lemonade, caramel pretzel, chocolate ganache & sea salt, and strawberry apple at the event.
Adams County Winery has curated two flights of wines to pair with the donuts, including dry options like Seyval and Harvest Blend, and sweet options like Razzberry Red and Cotton Candy Dreams. According to marketing manager Sean Bockstie, this is the third year of the donut pairing event, but this year they are specifically focusing on pairing with dry and sweet wines.
The event at Adams County Winery marks the beginning of a busy year for the winery, as they will be celebrating their 50th birthday. Additionally, Ziggy Donutz has plans to release a “Decade Series” of wines and host unique workshops and classes throughout the year.
For those interested in attending the donut and wine pairing event, pre-registration is available on the Adams County Winery website. Ziggy Donutz will also be parked at Gettysburg College on Wednesday before heading to Adams County Winery on Sunday.
