The #12 University of Pennsylvania women’s lacrosse team is set to face off against Philly rival Temple in a midweek matchup at Penn Park. This will be the 36th meeting between the two teams, with Temple leading the series 23-12-1. However, Penn has won the last seven contests, including a 11-6 victory in 2024.
Penn is coming off a tough 15-14 overtime loss to #10 John Hopkins, with Anna Brandt leading the offense with seven goals. Brandt is just two goals away from breaking the program’s all-time record. Goalkeeper Orly Sedransk had a career-high 13 saves in the game, and senior Keeley Block leads the team in points.
Temple comes into the game with a 1-2 record, most recently falling to Saint Joseph’s 14-7. Amelia Wright leads the team in goals and points, while goalkeeper Taylor Grollman has made 38 saves in three games.
Penn is looking to bounce back from their loss and add to their winning streak against Temple. With a strong offense led by Brandt and a solid defense, the Quakers are aiming to continue their success from last season, where they finished 15-5 and earned second in the preseason Ivy League rankings.
