Track and Field Season Wraps Up Regular Competition


The University of Pennsylvania men’s and women’s track & field teams concluded their regular season at the Philadelphia Metro meet at the Ott Center. Notable performances included Kai Eisenhardt setting a school record in the women’s pole vault, Benedikt Sachta winning the men’s pole vault, and Ella Neskora and Angleudi Asaah excelling in the throws. Amelia Kristen and Takunda Mhete impressed in the jumps, while Jocelyn Niemiec and Ryan Matulonis shone in the sprints. Shane Gardner and Chikaodinaka Akazi stood out in the hurdles, and Nicholas DeVita, Benjamin Markham, Anikwe Duru, and Jake Rose triumphed in the relay. In the distance events, Kyle Miller, Holden Emery, Liam Going, and Nicolas Pizzarro were strong in the 4x800m relay, while Joseph Ruiz set a personal best in the 3000m. Lara Cota and Miranda Schriver excelled in the women’s mile, and Brady Golomb and Ben Markham impressed in the 800m. Overall, the Penn Quakers had a strong showing, with many athletes breaking personal records and ending the regular season on a high note. Looking ahead, the teams will be gearing up for the upcoming championship season, with high hopes for continued success.
