Brown and Roberts’ Double-Doubles Propel MBB to Victory over Dartmouth, 88-75


The University of Pennsylvania men’s basketball team overcame a slow start to defeat Dartmouth 88-75 at The Palestra on Friday night. The Quakers, who shot poorly in the first half, rallied in the second half to secure the win. This victory improved Penn’s record to 7-16 overall and kept their Ivy League Tournament hopes alive with a 3-7 league record. Dartmouth, previously second in the Ivy standings, fell to 12-11 overall and 6-4 in the Ivies.

Notable performances from the game included sophomore Sam Brown’s 15 points, 10 assists, and seven rebounds, and junior Ethan Roberts’ double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Senior Nick Spinoso also matched his career high with 23 points in the game.

The win marked Penn’s second-highest scoring game of the season, with a season-high 32 baskets made and a season-best 70 attempts. The team also tied a season-high with 20 assists and shot 88.2 percent from the foul line.

Penn’s next game is on Saturday night against Harvard at 6 p.m. The game will be part of a doubleheader with the Penn women’s team. Before the men’s game, graduating seniors Reese McMullen, George Smith, and Nick Spinoso will be honored in their final home game.
