The University of Pennsylvania women’s tennis team secured a 4-3 victory over the University of Delaware at the Hecht Tennis Center following their weekend in California. The Quakers fought hard in every match against the Blue Hens, with Sabine Rutlauka retiring from her singles match despite leading in the second set. Lara Stojanovski, Gavriella Smith, and Eileen Wang all won their singles matches to clinch the victory for the Red and Blue. Penn will now look forward to hosting the ECAC Championship next weekend at the Hecht Tennis Center.
In doubles, S. Rutlauka/E. Wang and M. Urata/L. Stojanovski secured victories for Penn, while G. Schieroni/S. Svendsen won for Delaware. In singles, M. Hrynashka withdrew from her match against S. Rutlauka, while E. Wang, L. Stojanovski, and G. Smith earned victories for Penn. G. Schieroni and C. Kack picked up wins for Delaware.
