Actress and model Dayle Haddon tragically passed away from suspected carbon monoxide poisoning inside a Pennsylvania home owned by her son-in-law, actor Marc Blucas. The incident occurred on Dec. 27, 2019, when first responders found Haddon unresponsive and pronounced her dead at the scene. Blucas, who was also found inside the home, is currently in critical condition.
Investigators revealed that a faulty flue and exhaust pipe on a gas heating system caused the carbon monoxide leak. Firefighters detected high levels of carbon monoxide in the property, resulting in two medics and a police officer being treated for exposure.
Haddon, a Canadian model and actress known for her work with L’Oréal and appearances in films like “Madame Claude” and “North Dallas Forty,” spent her later years focused on philanthropy. She founded the nonprofit WomenOne, dedicated to providing education for women and girls worldwide.
The tragedy highlights the dangers of carbon monoxide, especially during winter months when the use of combustion type appliances increases. Fire Chief Eamon Brazunas emphasized the importance of having carbon monoxide alarms in homes and checking them regularly. If an alarm goes off, the immediate reaction should be to evacuate the premises and call 911.
