The Delaware County Daily Times has strict deadlines for obituary submissions to be published in the newspaper. Obituaries must be submitted Monday through Friday by 4:00 pm by calling 610-915-2226. On weekends and holidays, submissions are only accepted by email at Obit@delcotimes.com until 3:00 pm. Pricing for obituaries submitted on weekends and holidays will only be available the next business day after 10:00 am.
The preferred method for submitting obituaries is via email to Obit@delcotimes.com, but feel free to call and confirm receipt. Obituaries will maintain the same visual format but will now allow more flexibility in content. There is a cost for each obituary, with pricing and payments available only on weekdays during business hours.
Exceptions may apply for new accounts, out-of-state funeral homes, and private parties, requiring prepayment upon approval of the obituary. Prepayment required submissions will be processed on the next business day following weekends and holidays. Proof of the obituary will be provided for review, but payment is required before publication.
For all submissions, a complete name, address, and contact phone number are necessary to set up an account. The staff on weekends and holidays are not authorized to set up new accounts or process payments. Deadlines and procedures must be adhered to for obituaries to be published in the Delaware County Daily Times.
