Penn Junior Ethan Roberts Named Ivy League Player of the Week
The Ivy League has announced its weekly awards in men’s basketball, with University of Pennsylvania junior transfer Ethan Roberts receiving the honor of Ivy League Player of the Week. This marks Roberts’ first Ivy League weekly award of the season, following his recognition as the Patriot League Rookie of the Year during his freshman year at Army in the 2022-23 season.
Roberts showcased impressive performances at the Cathedral Classic Invitational over the weekend, where he led all players in scoring in all three of Penn’s games, totaling 76 points. In Friday’s game against Navy, he scored a collegiate high of 33 points. On Saturday, Roberts secured his second double-double of the season with 23 points and 10 rebounds in a victory over Maine, adding four assists and three steals. He wrapped up the weekend with 20 points and six rebounds in a game against Elon.
Penn will soon face Drexel in the first of three games at the second annual Big 5 Classic at the Wells Fargo Center on Saturday. The game against Drexel is scheduled for 2 p.m.
