Broncos Defeat Browns in Thrilling Matchup, McMillian Seals Victory with Late Interception

DENVER – The Denver Broncos managed to clinch a dramatic 41-32 victory against the Cleveland Browns on Monday night, highlighted by Ja’Quan McMillian’s interception return for a touchdown just 1:48 before the final whistle. This thrilling turnaround doomed standout performances from Browns quarterback Jameis Winston and wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, who both set franchise records in the loss.
Winston threw for an impressive 497 yards and four touchdowns, breaking the Browns’ record previously held by Josh McCown, while Jeudy, facing his former team, racked up 235 receiving yards and a touchdown—but it wasn’t enough. "Came up short," Jeudy lamented post-game. "Got to find a way to finish."
Despite Winston’s record-setting night, which also included three interceptions—two returned for touchdowns—the Broncos capitalized on key defensive plays. Nik Bonitto’s 71-yard interception return for a touchdown earlier in the game highlighted the Broncos’ defensive prowess.
Bo Nix, Broncos’ quarterback, completed 294 yards passing and connected on a spectacular 93-yard touchdown with Marvin Mims Jr. Denver improved to 8-5 and positioned themselves in playoff contention with a 76% chance of making the postseason.
As the game reached its final minutes, the Browns led 32-31 until a strategic decision by Broncos coach Sean Payton led to a pivotal field goal. Winston then attempted a comeback, but McMillian intercepted a crucial pass intended for Elijah Moore, sealing the game for the Broncos.
Looking ahead, the Browns will face the Pittsburgh Steelers next Sunday, while the Broncos enter their bye week before hosting the Indianapolis Colts on December 15.
