University of Pennsylvania’s women’s basketball team freshman forward Katie Collins has been named co-Ivy League Rookie of the Week for the third time this season. Collins helped Penn achieve a 3-0 week with impressive performances, including scoring a program-high 114 points against Immaculata. She also contributed significantly in victories against NCAA Tournament teams Chattanooga and Cal Baptist.
Collins’ stellar stats included averaging 6.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game throughout the week. Senior guard Stina Almqvist also received recognition by being named to the Ivy League’s weekly honor roll. The Quakers are currently on a three-game winning streak and hold a 6-3 overall record as they prepare to face La Salle in the upcoming Toyota Women’s Big 5 Classic at Villanova.
