University of Pennsylvania Wrestling Team Shines at Season Opener Journeymen Collegiate Classic

The University of Pennsylvania wrestling team kicked off their 2024-25 season at the Journeymen Collegiate Classic with impressive performances from their grapplers. Senior Nick Incontrera led the way, winning the 174A bracket and earning the coveted hammer award.

In addition to Incontrera’s victory, the Quakers had 20 other wrestlers place in the top six of their respective weight classes. Notable performances came from senior Ryan Miller and freshman Reed Fullmer, who both claimed first-place finishes in their brackets.

Several other wrestlers, including CJ Composto, Cross Wasilewski, and Jude Swisher, secured second-place finishes in their weights. The team as a whole showed strong results, with many wrestlers making their collegiate debuts and making an impact on the mat.

The Quakers are now gearing up for their upcoming dual action, where they will host Northern Colorado for a Homecoming dual at The Palestra on Saturday, Nov. 16 at noon. With strong showings at the Journeymen Classic, the team is looking poised for a successful season ahead.
