The threats were signed with “MAGA”, Trump’s campaign slogan, and came after similar threats to Trump’s cabinet nominees. Jeffries emphasized that threats of violence against elected officials are unacceptable and must be prosecuted. America is a democracy and political violence has no place in society. Law enforcement reacted swiftly to ensure the safety of Congress members and their families. Jeffries called for the full prosecution of those responsible for such threats.
