The University of Pennsylvania wrestling team is gearing up for their first home match of the 2024-25 season as they prepare to take on Northern Colorado in a Homecoming showdown at The Palestra on Saturday, November 16th at noon. After a strong performance at the Journeymen Collegiate Classic, where 21 Quakers placed in the top six of their weights, the team is looking to continue their success on their home turf.
Leading the charge for the Quakers is senior Nick Incontrera, who won the 174A bracket at the Journeymen event and is currently ranked #7 in the country at his weight class. Incontrera is joined by five other Penn wrestlers who are ranked in the top 35, including Max Gallagher, CJ Composto, and Ryan Miller.
This matchup against Northern Colorado will be historic as it will be the first time the two teams have faced each other. The Bears come into the match with four wrestlers ranked in the top 30, including Andrew Alirez who is ranked #1 in the country at 141. With both teams showcasing top talent, fans can expect an exciting match-up at The Palestra.
The Quakers’ lineup for the match includes a mix of experienced veterans and newcomers, while Northern Colorado will be led by a strong lineup featuring top-ranked wrestlers in several weight classes.
