Jon Batiste and Louisiana Stars Set to Shine at Super Bowl Pregame Show
LOS ANGELES — The Super Bowl pregame festivities on February 9 at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans will showcase the vibrant musical heritage of Louisiana, featuring an impressive lineup of local talent. Grammy and Oscar winner Jon Batiste is set to perform the national anthem, while renowned musicians Trombone Shorty and Lauren Daigle will take center stage to deliver “America the Beautiful.”
Seth Dudowsky, NFL’s head of music, expressed excitement about the lineup, emphasizing its celebration of New Orleans’ rich musical legacy. In addition to the anthem performance, Ledisi will sing "Lift Every Voice and Sing," with accompanying sign language interpretation from Otis Jones IV. Stephanie Nogueras will sign the national anthem and “America the Beautiful” in American Sign Language, while Matt Maxey will sign during the halftime show.
Kendrick Lamar, a rap megastar, is set to headline the halftime show, which will also be co-executively produced by Jay-Z’s Roc Nation and Emmy-winning producer Jesse Collins.
Jon Batiste, celebrated for his creative contributions as the former bandleader for “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” is currently in the spotlight with his documentary “American Symphony” nominated for Best Music Film at the upcoming Grammys. His recent release, "Beethoven Blues (Batiste Piano Series, Vol. 1)," brings a fresh take on classical compositions.
Trombone Shorty, a Grammy winner known for his eclectic blend of genres, has shared stages with rock legends, while Lauren Daigle has found success in contemporary Christian music, earning accolades including two Grammys. Ledisi, praised for her vocal prowess, also brings her cinematic experience to the event.
