Toyota has secured a landmark sponsorship agreement with the University of Pennsylvania’s Division of Recreation and Intercollegiate Athletics (Penn Athletics) to become the exclusive presenting sponsor of the 2024 Cathedral Classic Invitational, as well as the Penn men’s and women’s basketball programs. The announcement was made by Alanna Wren, the Director of Athletics at Penn, expressing gratitude for Toyota’s expanding support.
The 2024 Cathedral Classic Invitational, an NCAA-sanctioned multi-team event, will feature four teams, including Penn, and will take place over the Thanksgiving weekend at The Palestra in Philadelphia. Toyota’s partnership with Penn Athletics extends beyond the Cathedral Classic Invitational to include the men’s and women’s basketball programs, as well as their existing sponsorship of The Penn Relays Series.

The sponsorship, secured through JMI Sports, is an extension of Toyota’s involvement in the Philadelphia sports scene and aims to elevate their support for local athlete competitions.
The Tri-State Toyota Dealers Association comprises 25 Toyota Dealers in the Greater Philadelphia market, dedicated to providing sales and service to communities in the region. Toyota, a part of the U.S. cultural fabric for over 65 years, is focused on advancing sustainable mobility through its Toyota and Lexus brands with a commitment to offering electrified vehicles.
