University of Pennsylvania’s Dylan Throop and Luke Johnson are gearing up to represent the men’s cross country team at the NCAA Cross Country Championship in Madison, Wis. Throop and Johnson secured their spots by finishing third and sixth at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional. This marks the first time since 2021 that Penn has had two male athletes at the championships. Throop had an impressive performance at the regional, finishing first for the Quakers with a time of 29:34.6, followed closely by Johnson in sixth place with a time of 29:41.3.
Throop previously placed second in the Ivy League Heptagonal Cross Country Championship, setting a program record for the fastest time at the event. Johnson also had a strong showing at the championship, finishing 15th with a time of 23:25.9. The duo’s success has earned them recognition with weekly Ivy Awards throughout the season.
