The University of Pennsylvania men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will host Ivy League rivals Princeton and Cornell this weekend for their only “home” meet of the season. The meet will take place at Drexel Pool, with diving starting on Friday at 5 p.m. and swimming events on Saturday, beginning at 11 a.m. for the women and 3 p.m. for the men.
The Penn men’s team, with a record of 1-2, and the women’s team, at 5-1, are coming off victories over Bryant but fell to Brown in their last meet. Standout performances from James Curreri, Matt Fallon, and Jeffrey Hou on the men’s team, and Kayla Fu, Meredith Holcomb, and Anna Moehn on the women’s side, led to impressive wins.
In addition to the swimming events, the diving performances of Sadie Howard and Sophie Slayden have added depth to the Penn teams. The senior members of the team will also be honored on Senior Day.
The Princeton men’s team, currently ranked No. 25, and the Cornell men’s and women’s teams are all strong contenders in the Ivy League. With notable performances from swimmers like Yanning Zhang and divers like Aidan Wang from Princeton, and Pietro Ubertalli and Soodong Kim from Cornell, the competition is expected to be fierce.
