A volcano near Reykjavik, Iceland, erupted for the tenth time in three years on Wednesday, with no reported disruptions to air traffic or infrastructure. The eruption began at 11:14 p.m. local time and was ongoing as of Thursday, located east of the Blue Lagoon spa resort. Lava crossed the Grindavík road and reached the hot water pipeline, causing evacuations and closures for safety measures. Authorities had warned of volcanic activity due to magma accumulation beneath the peninsula. The most recent eruption in the area ended on Sept. 6, with no noticeable increase in seismic activity in recent weeks. Aerial videos and photos captured the bright orange and yellow lava spewing into the sky and flowing southward. The Icelandic meteorological office is monitoring the situation closely.
