University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown Wrestling Team Ranked 10th in Preseason NWCA Poll | Sports


First-year coach Tyler Reinhart and the Pitt-Johnstown wrestling team have been making waves in the 2024-25 National Wrestling Coaches Association NCAA Division II preseason coaches poll. The team was ranked 10th overall, with five of their wrestlers individually ranked. Among them, returning All-Americans Trevon Gray and Dakoda Rodgers, as well as 2024 national fifth-place finisher Isaiah Vance, are at the top of their weight classes.

St. Cloud State currently leads the poll with nine individually ranked wrestlers, followed by defending national champion Central Oklahoma. Pitt-Johnstown is positioned 10th in the ranking, with strong contenders like McKendree, Wisconsin-Parkside, and Indianapolis trailing closely behind.

The Mountain Cats are gearing up for the new season with their first match against No. 18 West Liberty on November 7th at the Sports Center. Fans are eager to see what Reinhart’s coaching and the team’s talent will bring to the mat this year. With a solid lineup of skilled athletes, including national qualifiers Mason Myers and Cooper Warshel, Pitt-Johnstown is poised to make a strong showing in the upcoming season.
