Swannanoa, North Carolina was hit hard by Tropical Storm Helene, causing severe flooding and destruction. As residents and first responders worked tirelessly to rescue those trapped by the rising waters, the community came together to support each other during this difficult time. The storm resulted in at least 228 deaths in the region, with search and rescue operations still ongoing to locate missing individuals. The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office and other agencies have been working to provide assistance and resources to those affected by the storm, with FEMA also involved in relief efforts. The damage caused by the storm has left many areas in need of rebuilding, with bridges washed out and roads destroyed. Despite the devastation, the community has shown resilience and unity, with neighbors coming together to help each other through the recovery process. As the region continues to assess and rebuild in the aftermath of the storm, they will rely on the support of others to recover and rebuild their homes and lives.
