He comes to Penn after serving as the Director of Athletics at Villanova University for the past five years.
During his time at Villanova, Bonfiglio oversaw a period of unprecedented success for the athletic department. Under his leadership, Villanova captured numerous conference championships and made deep runs in NCAA tournaments across multiple sports. Bonfiglio was also instrumental in securing critical funding for facility upgrades and renovations, which greatly enhanced the student-athlete experience at Villanova.
Prior to his time at Villanova, Bonfiglio held various leadership roles at other universities, including stints at Georgetown University and the University of Virginia. His background in fundraising and revenue generation will be a valuable asset to Penn Athletics as they continue to strive for excellence on and off the field.
