YouTuber crashes $200,000 sports car during live stream

Social media star Jack Doherty recently found himself in a terrifying situation when he crashed his $200,000 McLaren sports car while live streaming on the platform Kick. The 20-year-old was driving down a Miami highway with his cameraman Michael when the incident occurred. A clip of the crash went viral on X (formerly Twitter), showing Doherty losing control of his car and veering into a guardrail while glancing down at his phone. Despite the scary moment, both Doherty and his cameraman were thankfully unharmed. Doherty shared clips of the aftermath, including one where he is seen kicking the window and screaming for help inside the car after the crash.

Viewers of the clip criticized Doherty for allegedly being more concerned with his wrecked vehicle and filming the moment than his bleeding cameraman. Eventually, Doherty’s account was banned from Kick for violating community guidelines on safety and illegal activities. The streaming service emphasized the importance of prioritizing safety and avoiding dangerous behavior during live streams.

Doherty, who has a substantial following on YouTube, had purchased the McLaren just a few months before the accident, documenting the acquisition on his channel. Despite the scary ordeal, both Doherty and Michael were lucky to escape with minor injuries. Hopefully, this incident serves as a reminder to prioritize safety, especially when engaging in activities that can endanger oneself and others.
