Day 5 of the Junior Judo World Championship: Japan defends title with impressive team performances.


Japan successfully defended their title at the Judo Junior World Mixed Team Championship in Dushanbe with a 4-2 victory over France on the final day of competition. Korea and Uzbekistan claimed bronze medals after defeating Mongolia and Azerbaijan, respectively.

The event brought together teams of 6 players, 3 male and 3 female, showcasing teamwork in the individual sport of Judo. Korea secured their bronze medal with a dominating 4-0 victory over Mongolia, while Uzbekistan fought hard to defeat Azerbaijan and claim the other bronze.

The Gold medals were awarded by IJF Head Referee Director Armen Bagdasarov and Tajik Judo President Ismoil Mahmadzoir, with the champions joyously celebrating their success. Keito Kihara expressed his determination to win, stating, “I wanted to win so much that I could die. Thank you Dushanbe.”
