Israel’s military launched an air attack on central Beirut, killing at least six people and injuring seven. The attack targeted a building in the residential district, with the Hezbollah-linked Islamic Health Authority reporting that seven of its staff members were among the casualties. This is the second attack on the Lebanese capital this week. Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was recently killed, dealing a major blow to the movement and its Iranian backers in the region. In response, Hezbollah allies like the Yemeni Houthis have launched attacks in support of Hamas in Gaza.
Israel’s military said it killed 15 Hezbollah fighters in an air strike on a municipality building in southern Lebanon, following the death of eight soldiers in ground combat. Dozens of Israeli soldiers have been injured in the ongoing conflict. Hezbollah claimed to have forced Israeli soldiers to retreat from multiple locations along the border. Israel has focused its offensive on destroying tunnels and infrastructure on the border, but has issued evacuation orders for towns along the southern border.
Lebanon’s Health Ministry reported that Israeli air raids had killed at least 46 people in the south and central regions in 24 hours, leading to approximately 1.2 million Lebanese being displaced. The situation remains volatile, with ongoing air strikes, artillery fire, and Hezbollah rocket attacks. While Israel denies plans for a wider operation targeting major cities, tensions continue to escalate in the region. The conflict shows no sign of abating, with both sides engaged in intense fighting along the border.
