What will put a stop to Sudan’s conflict? | Programming on television

Sudan’s army has gained control of three important bridges in the capital city, Khartoum, this week, but heavy fighting continues to rage in the central area. The ongoing conflict has resulted in a massive humanitarian crisis, with thousands of people displaced and in need of assistance.

The army chief has stated that the paramilitary forces they are fighting against must withdraw from the territory they control before there can be any hope for peace. However, some question whether there is a lack of will from both sides to reach a resolution. The violence in Sudan has the potential to escalate and destabilize the region even further.

Hashem Ahelbarra discussed the situation with experts Kholood Khair, Amgad Fareid Eltayeb, and Dr. Mukesh Kapila. Khair, the founding director of Confluence Advisory, emphasized the need for a political solution to the conflict. Eltayeb, the executive director of Fikra for Studies and Development, highlighted the importance of addressing the root causes of the crisis to prevent further violence.

Dr. Kapila, a former United Nations resident and humanitarian coordinator for Sudan, stressed the urgent need for international intervention to provide assistance to those affected by the conflict.
